Alright Mercury fans! The regular season has ended and now it's time for the playoffs to begin. We all know that the Mercury seem to play their BEST basketball in the post season. The bench played well these last two games(even though we didn't win) to give our starters some much needed rest. Now when the starters need a breather, we know they can come in and contribute. I'm so excited about the playoffs, I wish the games started tomorrow. Well I hope everyone that's a Mercury fan and lives in Phoenix at
I also would like to wish Candice a Happy Happy Birthday today as well as a Happy Belated Birthday to Ketia and Happy Birthday to DB. A win against the Sparks tomorrow night would not only make our girls happy, but the fans as well. I never thought we would have another losing streak like the way we did at the beginning of the season. Hopefully they put this road trip behing them and they're ready to play Mercury basketball again.
Great game! They're playing such pretty basketball right now. Candice is so damn smooth, love to watch her play. Funny that the little Riley girl took out two of our bigs while she was laying on the floor LOL; hope DB is okay though. Missed Ketia out there, but Lilley did a great job. Keep it up Merc!
I keep forgetting to mention, congrats to Dee and Candice for the USA team selection and to Penny for the All Star selection :D We will be well represented!
What happened last night? What turned Cappie around so bad that she felt the need to become a street thug. This is a game. For her to take Penny out like that and to get DT was totally uncalled for. My first reaction was to have her arrested for assult. This was out of the scope of the game and was felony assult. Basketball is suppose to be a non-contact sport.
To the league, I recommend that Cappie be suspended for the rest of the season and take some anger management courses.
Great win, Ladies! Krispy Kremes were a small price to pay for a good, solid win. We all need to cut back our calorie and sugar intake anyway. It's not a good idea to get all the fans hyped up on sugar at the start of the game and have them crash in the 3rd Quarter. I really enjoyed watchi
Rough night in Seattle for our Mercury ... They are at about the same win/lose record as last year for this time. And remember we won the championship after that rough start too!
They are for sure going to need some x-factor wub when they return home on Thursday 06/18 at 7pm against the San Antonio Silver Stars! Come on out and support our Basketball wenchs!
I wouldn't take it that far saying they suck. They are not playing the kind of basketball we know they are capable of but this is a different team still trying to find their identity. We still have faith in them and will continue to thru the entrie season. Obviously you are not a Phoenix fan.
I really hope we beat them. LA is not playing good basketball right now and I hope it continues on Friday. But you know it probably won't b/c it seems when teams come play the Mercury, they put in a little extra effort. We just need to make them run alot in the first half, and then they'll be tired in the second.
No, it's not just you. It has been an awful weekend for the Suns and Mercury. I was excited about them getting a chance to end Atlanta's win streak. And I was even more excited for the Suns to beat the Lakers on Sat. and neither of those happened. So it's been a horrible weekend. I feel so bad for the Suns, but excited for the Mercury b/c we still have a long season ahead. They can beat Atlanta, as was proving during the second half when they were held to only 31 point
Thanks, ichirp! You've said it very well, too. Let's keep supporting our Mercury!!!
For all those naysayers out there, I forgot to mention that if you donate your tickets to a 501 c 3 charity, you can claim twice the value due to having a Gifts In Kind donation. So, not only do you get your money back, you've helped out folks less fortunate than you! (I know of this because I had formerly worked for a major national non-profit organization.)
Believe it or not, I have met Robert Sarver many times and have worked with him on occassion. I agree that personally he seems intelligent and caring. Unfortunately, the media is not making him appear that way. Perceptions are just that, perceptions. Perceptions to some people are reality. Kinda like all the hoopa with 1070, don't you think? It would be a good idea for Robert Sarver to address the fans directly and reassure them that he does care about them. It only takes a few seconds to reach out.I
This is definitely a hot topic, and people are going to agree to disagree. With this well planned media political move, was there any consideration given to the fans on all sides of the issue? Every interview and press release I have read has made mention of the team's views, etc, but nothing has been mentioned about their relationship with the fans.
It has been perceived by many that the entire NBA hates Phoenix from the refs to Mr. Sterns. So, this political stance c
