I don't know if I'm reading too much into this, but Cap on Twitter says:

CAPTAIN CRUNCH SEND TO US AIRWAYS ARENA

    and

    ARIZONA -KINGS OF LEON

Is she hinting at something...Cappie, if you come back to Phx you'll have more Captain Crunch than you'll know what to do with :)

Speaking about cereal, have y'all found the Merc's wheaties box yet?

The Mercury can't afford to get rid of Cappie. She is part of the 3 headed monster that helped the Mercury win 2 championships. I would be very upset if they got rid of her, and kept people who didn't play well the last two summers.

Jess~ I read that tweet also. I think they know what they are going to do, but I think they are making us sit on the edge of our seats. I saw the Wheaties Box once here in NC, and before you know it, it was gone. I don't eat Wheaties, but I should have grabbed when I saw it.

If you hear anything else about the team, please keep me informed.

Sad to see Le'Coe go :(

  • Re: Free Agents

I agree jessers10...sad to see Le'Coe go.  But Anne Meyers already said it would be hard to keep the team intact especially since they reduced the salary cap.  So they had to give up a good player that was worth something and unfortunately it had to be her.  I just hate how they reduced the salary cap, and also reduced the roster, and now the assistants.  It seems the WNBA can't catch a break.  I know the NBA has been around much longer, but I hate to see guys who sit on the bench and rarely play making 1 or 2 million dollars and the WNBA salary cap is now under $800,000 to cover 11 players.  But some things in life aren't fair and there's nothing we can do about it but continue to support the WNBA.

Amarefan... I agree with you 100%! I'm also sad to see Le'coe go. She was a big body down low who could take the hit and still get the basket. At least she can say she won her first WNBA Championship with the BEST team in the WNBA... The Mighty MercurySmile
