This type of basketball playing is in Cappies blood. I think this is why she wanted to return back to the East Coast. They play a bit more physical than the West however, it still is not an excuse.  She has always played at this level but I think now that she is the opponent its not accepted. Kinda funny! As far as basketball not being a non-contact sport all I can say is......was this your first Mercury game?  Basketball whether mens/womens is very much a contact sport. Just because a ref is not blowing the whistle doesnt mean that contact is not being made. Next time you get a chance take a look at what goes on  away from the ball.  CONTACT CONTACT CONTACT. Its about power and execution! When you are playing a sport at this level, intensity and emotion are key tools. It can give your team the extra energy needed but also can get you ejected as we have seen. Non-the-less its needed. It was good to see Penny Taylor react as well. Finally some emotion to get these ladies going. I am sure the league will contact Cappie soon if they have not already. Good for the Mercury that Cappie was ejected cause she was on a roll. Bad for Liberty cause she was their only chance of them beating us.
