Well game #1 wasnt pretty and now that we have all seen game #2, we know that it was just as ugly.

Welcome to playoff basketball folks!! This is what its all about.  All the stats from the regular season dont mean a thing. The Indiana Fever are playing there best basketball and they should be. When you go up against the #1 team, with the MVP of the league you better bring your A game everynite. That is what Indiana is doing. They brought it to game #1 and surprised us all, they brought it to game #2 and won, and now playing back on their home court you can be sure THEY WILL BRING IT ON SUNDAY.  This is what happens when you're up against the best. You raise your standards to meet theirs. Its the only chance they have. They figured it out and now its on! I think these two teams are pretty well even matched in the way they have been playing. Answering each other and keeping the games very close. Of course us Mercury fans want to see a blowout, want an easy win, WANT A CHAMPIONSHIP!!  Is that too much to ask? All kiding aside, the Mercury have their work cut out for them. Winning in Indiana is going to be hard but not impossible.

So, what next? What do the Phoenix Mercury try next to win a game? Do they keep playing the same style of basketball they are used to? Indiana has certainly adjusted their game. They had to if they wanted to stop Taurasi and Pondexter.  The fast paced style of Phx. can only last so long. Indiana has kept up with Phx. until the last second of the 4th quarter. They can hang!!! What about Penny Taylor? A little lip laceration isnt going to change her style of game. Why isnt she in the starting line up? Score early and let the Fever become the team trying to catch up, not Phoenix. The Mercury need to become the offensive team early in the game. Phoenix can hold them if they can score early and take a nice lead. Phoenix is well rounded both offensively and defensively. Indiana is not. They are more of an offensive team.

The Mercury need to set some plays that allow Taurasi some nice looks at the basket. Screens need to be set and Cappie needs to do what she does best. DRIVE the ball in. These two players need to lead the team like they have before.

So that is my prescription(Rx) for the Phx. Mercury for game #3. Hopefully it will help bring the Fever down!!
