Anyhow, hey just wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU to the Phx. Mercury marketing staff for hosting a locker room tour/Pizza party last night at the arena.  We were lucky enough to tour behind the scenes at US Airways which included the Suns locker room and the Mercury locker room. 

Suns locker room was STATE OF THE ART to say the least. Top notch with everything. Very cool to see what is normally off limits to the general public.  Jacuzzi's, yes more than one, a huge shower room, HUGE flat panel tv and so on.....no expense spared!

The Mercury locker room resembled ummmmm lets seeeee  here..........a high school locker room. Nothing fancy at all. Very basic! No fancy........ANYTHING. I was stunned. So much so that I put my camera back in my pocket and refused to take pictures to share over the internet. For embarassement reasons. Wow!! I could not believe that OUR CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM was being held to these standards. It was sad. Very Very sad. Simple folding chairs are placed in front of each locker, some with rips in them. It was a basic square locker room  that you would find in a school. I dont know how else to describe it.

I felt a deep sadness that the Mercury organization feel that its ok for a CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM to be held at these standards.  I hope that someone with "POWER" realizes that the ladies of the Phx. Mercury deserve better quality than what they are provided with now. How about some new chairs, quality lockers(if you need any ideas....just walk down the hall). How about providing them with a locker room that they can be proud of not embarrased of. The players of the Mercury leave their blood, sweat, and tears on the court everynight they play....the least you could do is provide them with a locker room that provides comfort and says THANK YOU for what they do well......WIN!!

I was glad like I said earlier to have been able to take this tour and to see what so few do. I realize now, somethings are better left unknown.
